課程概述

了解風險評估的科學方法以及其在環境決策中所扮演的角色。並且從課程中熟練執行風險評估之機制與步驟和風險分析

1. Introduction to risk analysis: Meaning of environmental, health, and safety risk; the social and regulatory context of risk analysis; the framework of risk analysis.
2. Hazard identification: Categories of evidence in hazard identification; weight-of-evidence determination; hypothesis testing.
3. Release assessment: Monitoring, statistical and modeling techniques for assessing release of risk agents from a facility or activity.
4. Exposure assessment: Principles and methods of characterizing exposure in relation to environmental systems and human population; mechanisms and models of environmental fate and transport.
5. Consequence assessment: Pharmacokinetic and dose-response models; epidemiological methods for assessing health risk; concepts and methods for assessing ecological consequences.
6. Uncertainty, variability, and sensitivity analysis: The source and reduction of uncertainty; Analytic and numeric analysis methods including Monte Carlo and other techniques; value-of-information.
7. Issues of risk analysis: Scientific, methodological, and philosophical issues of health and environmental risk analysis.
8. Risk analysis and risk management: Interaction between risk analysis and risk management; the use of risk analysis information in environmental decision-making.
9. Case studies: Risk assessment for superfund sites
